Here at Mermaids UK Bristol, we endeavour to recreate the underwater world of mermaiding in the most magical but also safest way possible. We understand the physical demands life in a tail requires, therefore we have these set swimming requirements that must be met by any child wishing to attend a lesson/party or experience.
We follow set standards by Mermaids UK International and are certified Mermaid instructors.
These set of swimming prerequisites will be performed in a swim test at the start of every first lesson, party or experience. The required standards are as follows;
Requirements to be able to join us for an experience or party:
Minimum age of 6
Be able to swim 25m comfortably with good front crawl action
Be able to fully submerge face in the water whilst swimming
Be able to tread water in shallow and deep water
Have the ability to rotate 360 degrees in both directions
Show for no less than 5m, a basic dolphin leg kick
